Traditionally there has been a sweep at a wedding as a sign of good luck.
We can provide a sweep in costume at a wedding on request.
This service is available all year round, and not just in the “sweeping season”.
An indicative price would be £50.

Why are there sweeps at a wedding?
This is to bring luck! 200 yearsa ago King George III witnessed a sweep brave enough to stop a runaway horse and declared sweeps to be a symbol of good luck.. Later he invited a sweep to a wedding as a symbol of good luck and the tradtion of sweeps at weedings began. In fact there was a chimney sweep invited to the palace before the wedding of the present Queen.
What does a chimney sweep do on the Wedding Day?
On your wedding day I will arrive in traditional Victorian Style chimney sweep costume, including the customary chimney sweeps brush, top hat, waistcoat and a traditional red neck scarf. I will allow plenty of time for the bride and groom and also any guests who wish to have a photo opportunity with me. In order to bestow the Chimney Sweeps good luck I will give a good luck kiss for the bride as she emerges fro the church. At this stage the photographer takes the special good luck photo. In order to ensure good luck make sure to hire a genuine chimney sweep.
